George is a Chartered Accountant, having qualified with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in London. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (First-Class Hons.) in French and Economics from Surrey University, UK.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC).

BACKGROUND

George has close to 20 years of experience in the fields of audit and business consultancy, including engagements for clients listed in London, Moscow and Nicosia.

Given the international profile of his clients, he is also well versed in international trust and corporate services.

He took the helm of Costas Tsielepis & Co Ltd in 2008.

SKILLS

George has a thorough understanding of his clients’ needs, be it of a commercial, tax, audit or corporate services nature. This enables him to find a wide range of business solutions, either using the resources of the Tsielepis alliance or those of their local and international preferred associates.

He also has a solid knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) being able to advise on issues relating to financial reporting, audit and assurance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

George is responsible for the overall operations of Costas Tsielepis & Co Ltd.

In particular, he is charged with ensuring that the service provided in all core areas of the company’s activities, being taxation, audit and business consultancy, is of the highest standards.

He is also responsible for ensuring the coherent and seamless interaction among the various entities within the Tsielepis organisation so as to maximise the value they add to their clients’ business.

ALEXIS C. TSIELEPIS, BSc, FCA

ACADEMIC & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Alexis graduated from the University of Bristol where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree (First-Class, Hons.) in Economics and Accounting with an emphasis in Continental Europe. He subsequently trained as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), London.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC).

He also holds the Expert in European Value Added Tax (VAT) Degree, which he earned with the highest grade ever awarded in the history of the coveted diploma.

BACKGROUND

Alexis is a dedicated tax specialist. His areas of expertise go beyond the borders of Cyprus’ direct and indirect tax. Over the last ten years, Alexis has been an integral part of multi-jurisdictional teams of advisors on cross-border mergers, acquisitions and reorganisations. He possesses a solid understanding of double-tax treaties, VAT Directives and Trust legislation. Alexis offers a broad scope of knowledge, expertise and experience when advising his clients, who range from multi-national corporations to high-net worth individuals.

Alexis sits on various committees charged with tax matters and has authored a number of tax syllabuses. He also examines and advises reputable international professional bodies on advanced Cyprus taxation. He lectures extensively on VAT, anti-money laundering and Cyprus direct taxation, and has written a number of related articles on matters pertaining to Cyprus and EU tax.

SKILLS

Alexis’ in-depth understanding of the workings of double-tax treaties, his experience and knowledge of the Cyprus local tax legislation and its usages, his detailed comprehension of EU VAT matters and decisions of the European Court of Justice (ECJ), all position him uniquely to give comprehensive and authoritative advice to his clients. Alexis examines in depth the tax planning needs of his clients in order to recommend and formulate the best possible tax effective solutions.

Alexis also structures and administers Cyprus international trusts and currently acts as Trustee in trusts holding assets, situated in a number of jurisdictions, worth billions of Euros. His integrity, experience and results-oriented attitude, make him an indispensable consultant and partner to his clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Alexis is responsible for the operations of the tax department of Costas Tsielepis & Co Ltd, structuring transactions and advising on all tax matters. He places tremendous effort in communications with his clients in order to understand each proposed transaction. He is then responsible to work closely with his tax department, and where required, international associates, in order to propose the optimal structure. Following this, Alexis will ensure the execution and implementation of the structuring plan.

ANTONIS CHRISTODOULIDES, BSc, FCCA

Antonis graduated from the University of East Anglia, Norwich where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree (Upper Second-Class, Hons.) in Accounting.

He is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC).

BACKGROUND

Antonis is a dedicated and accomplished professional. He has more than 18 years of experience in the fields of audit and tax, having dealt with publicly listed companies on the Cyprus Stock Exchange in the fields of shipping and tourism and with private companies in manufacturing and trading, construction and development, investments, hospitality, aviation and more.  He has served as an Audit Manager and Senior Manager with a Big Four Auditing firm in Cyprus before being moving on as Senior Manager first and later as a Partner and Director with Costas Tsielepis & Co Ltd.

SKILLS

Over the years, Antonis has acquired in depth technical knowledge and experience, which he systematically and methodically applies to due diligence projects relating to mergers and acquisitions as well as budgeting/forecasting exercises to assist in meeting clients’ bank requirements or securing a government grant. Antonis delivers highly professional, technically impeccable and consistently dependable audit and assurance services every single time.

He deals extensively with the final reviewing of audit files with the aim of ensuring that audits are always performed to the highest quality standards and international practices. He also manages and coaches on a continuous and personal basis audit team members to assist them with effectively addressing critical audit areas and key risks. He also frequently acts as Senior Manager on Group Audit engagements.

He also carries out in-house training seminars to audit staff on how to conduct efficient and effective audits in compliance with International Auditing Standards.

Antonis is responsible for the preparation of Consolidated Financial Statements and Annual and Interim Reports for reputable and well-known Listed entities, required for filing with the Cyprus Stock Exchange.

He is also responsible for the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements for large groups of companies engaged in the shipping and other industries as well as the review of stand-alone financial statements, including the determination of taxes.

Moreover, in addition to guiding and supervising his audit team, Antonis is also heavily involved in developing and maintaining strong and enduring business relationships with his clients.

COSTAS CONSTANTINOU

Costas holds a Higher Stage Certificate in Accounting from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

His academic and theoretical background is complemented by his over 35 years of practical and applied experience in the field.

BACKGROUND

Costas is a dedicated, practical and highly versed professional. Working in the audit field since 1980, he is a foremost expert in all matters relating to tax and audit and is blindly trusted for his knowledge of tax and audit standards, methodologies, laws and requirements.

He had worked as an auditor for a Big Four Auditing firm in Cyprus for 12 years before moving on to Costas Tsielepis & Co as an Audit Manager at first and later as a Partner and Director.

SKILLS

Over the years, Costas has mastered the audit profession and consistently applied his three and a half decades of experience in effectively and efficiently handling his clients’ tax and audit needs and requirements.

He deals extensively with the reviewing of audit files and guiding his audit team to effectively address critical audit areas and key risks, feasibility studies, mergers and acquisitions and more. He also frequently acts as Senior Manager on Group Audit engagements.

Nicolas graduated from the University of Hull where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Economics and Accounting. He also received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Financial Management. Nicolas qualified with the Tax Department of Deloitte Ltd, Cyprus.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC).

BACKGROUND

Nicolas is a seasoned tax advisor specialised in corporate and personal taxation. He has over 10 years of solid experience in the fields of national and international tax advisory and compliance.

He has been involved in a number of international corporate restructuring projects and has extensive experience in tax due diligence and international tax planning using Cyprus.

Nicolas serves a range of industries, including energy, shipping, financial services, investment and banking as well as high net worth individuals and frequently represents clients before the Cyprus Tax Department in tax appeals and disputes relating to the interpretation of tax laws.

He is an author of various articles, reports and presentations on Cyprus tax law and on the implementation of EU Directives.

SKILLS

Nicolas’ solid experience and knowledge of Cyprus’ tax legislation and the application of double tax treaties and their usage in international structuring, position him uniquely to offer complete and solid advice to the company’s clients.
